Relojería de Oro

Palma de Mallorca · Since 2024

Every watch goes on the timing machine before it reaches the display case.

We buy, sell and service mechanical watches. Everything we hold has been checked, documented and listed with its reference, calibre and rate figures.

All details come from our own inspection. Reference and calibre figures are taken from the movement report, not from manufacturers' catalogues.

Workshop

Repairs and servicing, checked in house

We work on mechanical and quartz movements from all the usual brands. Every job ends with a measurement that you receive in writing.

  • Full service

Strip the movement, clean it, oil it, replace worn parts and regulate it. Then 48 hours of rate testing in five positions.

    Turnaround

    3–5 weeks

  • Battery change

With a seal inspection and pressure test. We do not change a battery without a water resistance check — otherwise the watch is no longer sealed once it has been opened.

    Turnaround

    Usually the same day

  • Water resistance and pressure test

Testing to ISO 22810, dry and wet. Worth doing before any trip, recommended once a year.

    Turnaround

    1–2 days

  • Case and bracelet

Polishing only on request, and only where it will not take the edges off the watch. Bracelet sizing, pin replacement, straightening folding clasps.

    Turnaround

    1–3 days

  • Crystal and hands

Replacing sapphire and acrylic crystals, sourcing hands and dials — on vintage pieces only with matching original parts.

    Turnaround

    2–4 weeks

  • Rate check on its own

Timing machine in five positions, amplitude, beat error, daily rate. Issued as a report, if you want to know where your watch stands.

    Turnaround

    30 minutes

Purchase

We buy watches, gold and silver

Valuation in the shop, in front of you, with the figures shown. Payment in cash up to the legal limit or by bank transfer the same day.

  1. Bring it in

Bring the piece along, with the box and papers if you have them. No appointment is needed, though it helps with larger lots.

  2. Inspection

For watches: movement report, reference, originality of the parts. For precious metal: fineness by touchstone and X-ray, weight on a calibrated scale.

  3. Offer

We name the price and explain how it is arrived at — the day's rate for metal, market conditions and condition for watches.

  4. Settlement

Purchase receipt with photo ID as Spanish law requires, payment straight away. You decide right up to the end.

Precious metal by fineness

We pay by the day's rate and the fine weight, not a flat sum. Scrap gold, dental gold, cutlery, coins and bars.

Silver 925

Consignment

Sell your watch without giving it away

If you want to realise more than an outright sale would bring, place the piece on consignment. It sits in our display case, we sell it on your behalf, and you receive the proceeds less the agreed commission.

Discuss consignment
  • Contract before handover

You sign digitally before the watch changes hands. The reserve price, the commission, the term and the return are all set out in it.

  • Every piece recorded

Photograph, reference, calibre, condition, serial number. You receive the record as proof.

  • Insured on the premises

Consignment stock is covered by our policy for as long as it is with us.

  • Settlement you can follow

After a sale you receive a statement showing the sale price, the commission and the amount paid out — not a lump sum without evidence.

  • Return at any time

You can collect your piece once the agreed term has passed. No reason needed, no fee.

The shop

Jaume III 24, on the ground floor

Relojería de Oro sits on Carrer de Jaume III in Palma, between a bank and a bar, with the workshop window facing the street. Anyone who comes in can see what is being worked on — that is deliberate. We deal in second-hand watches and precious metal and run our own workshop. The two belong together: without a bench you cannot judge the condition of a watch, and without that judgement you should not be selling it.

We serve customers in Spanish, German and English. A large part of our clientele lives between Mallorca and central Europe — contracts, invoices and reports come to you in your own language, and the Spanish version is the authoritative one.
